A New Life for Belmont
The year was 1982. A group of people were meeting together in a house on Church St. with Pastor Dan Renzella. This group of people would form the nucleus of a new Pentecostal church in the town of Belmont. This new fellowship was called New Life Pentecostal Assembly.
The purchase of 8 acres of land, including St Kevin’s Catholic School, on the northern perimeter of the village provided the church with a permanent home from which it still operates today. Although the outside appearance still reflects its school days heritage, once you enter the doors you will see that many renovations have been made. A bright, well-equipped sanctuary can accommodate 100 people. Two spacious classrooms and an attractive, colourful nursery provide ministry facilities for the entire family. One of the classrooms also serves as a multi-purpose room with an access window from the kitchen. Functional, bright and clean, NLCC looks forward to serving the people of Belmont for many years to come.
In the 1990’s the congregation of New Life Pentecostal Assembly voted to change the name to New Life Community Church, the name by which it is currently known. The new name was installed along with a sign that stands as a welcoming beacon to all who enter the village from the north. Just as the sign provides a welcome to those who are driving in to town, God’s promise shines forth for the future of New Life Community Church. “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11.
Easily located, the church sits beside the new water tower - a landmark that can be seen for miles.
